ORIGINAL RESOURCE / 03 / Roles & responsibility

A clear role makes a better connection.

Read the difference between an artist, a studio, an institute, an examination operator and an association.

01

Name the kind of organisation

An individual artist and a studio business answer different discovery questions. An institute explains learning arrangements, while an examination operator has separate assessment responsibilities. An association provides a professional exchange context. The relationship between these roles should be explained, not assumed.

02

Ask who makes the decision

Identify the person or organisation responsible for eligibility, a result, a record, an actual working arrangement or participation terms. A website link does not transfer that responsibility or establish reciprocal approval. Keep the claim attached to the operator that can actually explain it.

03

Keep evidence in context

A portfolio, institute completion document, association interest and independent examination result are different pieces of information. None should silently become a substitute for all the others. A document layout, badge or QR code does not create an authorised issued-record service.

04

Confirm the current arrangement

Ask for the actual scope and written terms before committing or sharing private information. The current association site has no live membership approval, event booking, licensing or qualification service. Its proposed exchanges introduce a discussion, not a guaranteed benefit or recognised professional status.
